Limited Government

Welfare is a common form of the government that a lot people use as a way of getting by. They get their food stamps in order to eat and it's a easy way of earning some kind of money without working or applying for work. Unfortunately, this is the norm for a lot of people because they are not being inspired to be independent. It's a safety net for the poor to remain poor and to come up with every excuse why they are not working or really don't want to work. "If you are broke let the government help you, if you can't work or don't desire to work because you haven't been able to get a job with the different job applications that you put in, then let the government help." Welfare is a crooked system that causes the people that depends on it to abuse it and the government is making hardworking middle-class and wealthy people pay a big chunk of taxes so the government could have money for the poor to fund welfare for them. People who depend on welfare will never be independent citizens. I have news that will disappoint people who thrive on the government for help. The Bible says that the government can't be depended on to be your help. 2 Thessalonians 3:7-11 (KJV) "For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you; Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you: Not because we have no power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us. For even we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies." (Nelson, 2001) 1 Timothy 5:8 (KJV) "But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than infidel." (Nelson, 2001) If a man who don't provide for his family and abuses the system by any means of getting by, he deserve to be called out on it. It's one thing to make mistakes and it's another thing when it's just plain stupidity. Times can get rough at times don't get me wrong, but there is or should be a limit when getting government assistance.

People who are on welfare for such a long period of time, do not become independent and they become unsatisfied with what they have because it is not enough. When the money runs out on their food stamps card they become impatient. Ezekiel 16:49-50 (KJV) "Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor or needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good." (Nelson, 2001) The government should limit people to use welfare. They should give people a certain time they should collect their food stamps and then inspire them to get a job. If you show people that you have backbone, and tell them no sometimes they will respect you. I remember going down to the Hartford Labor in Hartford, CT (now in Wilson in Windsor, CT), it was a ghetto area where a lot of people get big time welfare where they can get Food Stamps, SSI, Unemployment, etc. I had made an appointment to meet with a worker at the Hartford Labor after the New Year (3 years ago). The woman's name was Doreen. I told her that I was Prior Service in the Army Reserve and she set me up for an immediate appointment. I told her that I was interested in working at the Hartford Labor. The people usually deal with people that want government assistance and I was one of maybe three people that was looking for employment. Doreen chatted with me for a long time and she helped me with my resume. She had gave me different websites online to check out jobs and federal work for out of state jobs. The people down there was not used to people that was interested in work like that because they usually deal with ghetto acting people that don't want to work but people who want free government money like food stamps, ham sandwiches, and cell phones.

I am saying this to say this, when you take the initiative to want to be independent, people will have such a respect for you. I've done summer jobs before and I am not for welfare if I don't have to get it. Doreen at the Hartford Labor inspired me when she gave me job information. I'm not trying to knock people that is on welfare but at some point you have say, "You know what I'm tired of just getting by, it's time for me to start checking out employment." I think that if more people grasp that idea, they will start to believe that they can do better than they are currently doing.

Views on The U.S. going to War

My view on the war is simple. I believe there is always time for peace, especially when you are all about trying to be a peacemaker. However, when a country wants to invade another country and declare war on that country whether it be Egypt declaring war on the US that's when I'm not about peace anymore. The Bible talks about there being a time for peace and also a time for war. In this day and age there is no time to take anyone lightly especially when they are talking about wiping a country away. 1 Chronicles 5:20-22 (KJV) "And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him. And they took away their cattle; of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of men an hundred thousand. For there fell down many slain, because the war was of God. And they dwelt in their steads until the captivity." (Nelson, 2001) God will give us the wisdom on how to deal with certain situations when we put our trust in him. Psalm 144:1-2 (KJV) "Blessed be the Lord my strength which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me." (Nelson, 2001) For example, God gave Joshua wisdom at the battle of Jericho and David when he fought the Giant philistine Goliath.

God will give his people the strength to fight in combat when we trust in him that we will come out victorious. Psalm 27:1 (KJV) "The Lord is my light and salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" (Nelson, 2001) That Bible verse gives us a confidence of peace in our heart that God will protect against any battle in our lives which is already won because God fight all our battles. If we ever doubt God, Revelations 12:7-9 (KJV) "And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevaileth not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." (Nelson, 2001) Satan was once God's angel in heaven but Satan got prideful and wanted to control heaven. God would not allow that to happen so Michael and his angels fought against the dragon which was the Devil. Michael and his angels defeated Satan and his angels. God cast Satan and his angels out of heaven and in the earth because of his evil ways.

For those people that are scared of war or rumors of war that is not a good thing. If the enemy sense anyone's weakness he or she is already doomed and set themselves up to be defeated. We as Christians have to have a strong faith in God. Ephesians 6:13-17 (KJV) "Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God..." (Nelson, 2001) Yes, there is a time for peace and a time for war it says in Ecclesiastes 3:8 (KJV) "A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace." (Nelson, 2001) This is true but we also have to understand that it's all in God's timing so in the meantime we still have to be careful like it says in Philippians 4:6 (KJV) "Be careful for nothing; but by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." (Nelson, 2001)

Pro Israel

Psalm 122 A Prayer for Israel

I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.
2 Our feet shall stand within thy gates, O Jerusalem.
3 Jerusalem is builded as a city that is compact together:
4 Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the Lord.
5 For there are set thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.
6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.
7 Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.
8 For my brethen and companions' sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.

9 Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek thy good.
